My analysis uses Bristol city council’s Pinpoint map (https://maps.bristol.gov.uk/pinpoint/): The light blue zone is the so-called Lower Super Output Area that most closely fits Cotham Hill (LSOA references E01014558 or 022B). HMOs are depicted by house icons (Mandatory in green, Additional in blue). PBSA is in olive green; St Joseph’s is in red because it’s at the application stage. Committee rejects St Joseph's plan; focus moves to new vote in October, possible appeal
By Andrew Waller, 11 September 2026 Councillors rejected the St Joseph’s planning application by 5 votes to 3 at a meeting of Planning Committee B on 2 September. The proposal to create 126 student beds at the former care home will now return to the committee on 14 October to face a second vote.
