* Redland Road, 20 Feb: 'Woken at 2-50am'
(21101) Complaint about on-street noise disturbance at the southern end of Redland Road, near the Elmgrove Centre, in the early hours of 20 February 2022.
A resident writes: "We were woken at 2.50 am on Sunday, February 20th, by a large group of what
appeared to be (and sounded like) students sitting on the wall of the transformer substation, eating pizza, talking, laughing and shouting. When I banged on the window, far from being apologetic, one of them yelled 'Give us another five minutes!' They then gradually dispersed."
Note: In cases of on-street noise such as this it's often difficult to conclusively identify the people involved as students unless they are clearly linked to an address. Where there is good reason to believe that they are, I record the reports as a reminder that on-street noise is possibly the largest category of disturbance even though, for the reasons mentioned, it attracts the fewest complaints.
The resident who submitted this report has complained of similar disturbances at the same location on three previous occasions in this academic year. AW
