* Hampton, 6 Mar: Street rugby, 1:20am

(S137) Group playing rugby in the road at the junction of Hampton and Chandos Roads at around 1:20am on Saturday, 6 March 2021.

Resident says: "I watched and videoed this group for about 10 minutes. They were kicking a rugby ball from one side of the street to catchers on the other side, occasionally standing aside to let cars pass. There was quite a lot of shouting, plus the noise of the ball bouncing on the road surface. The ball was sometimes hoisted high into the air and it didn't look like anyone was taking much care to avoid hitting parked cars, or even property. I texted Operation Beech but got no reply. (It was about 1:30 by this time.) Eventually I decided to speak to the group myself, and they moved on, but not very far. They hung around the Hampton Park / Auburn Road junction for a while before some of them went off along Ashgrove Road. I could still hear the rugby ball bouncing along the road. They appeared to be students."
