* Waverley, 6 Jun: 'Thumping bass'

(22066) Complaint about a student party in Waverley Road, Cotham, on the night of 5/6 June 2023.

Resident wrote to UoB: "There was a very noisy party last night at [xx] Waverley Road, BS6. It’s a narrow road’s width from my house. I was kept awake until after 2am.

"Previous to that, two students (UoB, Economics) had given me contact details for someone called [xxxx], whose farewell party it was. I called him at 23.50 to ask him to turn the music down and to get everyone back in the house as they were shouting and door slamming in the street. He said he would do that. So far so good.

"However at 01.32 I tried to contact him again as nothing had changed. No reply. I then went over to the house and talked (shouted!) to one of the tenants. The thumping bass was so loud that I could hardly hear what was being said and by that time everyone was drunk, so talking to them was useless. The house was crammed with people.

"I also sent a message to Operation Beech but I gather they were not on duty. Usually of course they are brilliant. I also called 101 but got no pick-up."
