* Roslyn, December: 'Weeks of noise'

(S128) Complaint about persistent noise disturbance at a student property in Roslyn Road

Resident wrote to UoB on 11 December 2020: "We have endured week after week of ... a constant high level of noise coming through the partition wall - lots of shouting and screaming and everyone talking very loudly over each other whilst congregated in their living room. Our living room is adjacent and it is often so loud that we are unable to hear the tv programme we are watching, reading a book is not an option or even being able to think clearly. ... We have spoken to the students on several occasions and constantly knock on the wall, which they know to be a signal that they are being too loud but it continues regardless.

Last night was the worst it has been over the last month or so and the sheer level of noise was unbearable. It started at 7pm, as it always does, and went on all throughout the night until 5am this morning, stopping shortly before our young children started their day. Our whole family has been awake all night with their noise and slamming of heavy fire doors all night long. I believe that it was just their household members present last night but on other nights there has been a constant stream of visitors, who do not live there, entering and leaving the property in breach of tier 3 covid rules."
