* Ravenswood, 16 Sep: 'Garden light show'

(23003) Complaint about a party at a student house in Ravenswood Road, Cotham, on the night of 16 September 2023.

Resident wrote to UoB: "We are writing to report a disturbance at [xx] Ravenswood Rd last night (Saturday 16th September) and have completed a Community Living Report Form (see attached) as requested. The disturbance was a large gathering of people for a party at the property with loud music, many people in the garden together with a very bright projected light show in the garden."

Earlier in the day, three students had knocked on the resident's door and told her they planned to have a party in the evening. The resident made clear she would not tolerate excessive noise or a garden gathering late at night, and would complain to the university if it happened.

Her complaint mentions previous occasions when she had had to speak to the students about noise in the garden at night.

The resident says she tried to contact Operation Beech during the party but got no answer. (It may not have been on duty on this date.) She instead rang the police on 101 but was told "I would need to inform the council about the noise as it was not something they could help with."
