* Lansdown, 8 Jul: 'Increasing wave of noise'

(21011) Complaint about noise disturbance at a student property in Lansdown Road, Chandos, in the early hours of 8 July 2021.

Resident says: "After the nightmare of last night, and in spite of constant background noises from random student houses in Lansdown and Waverley, I was hoping to sleep. Then, just before 1am an increasing wave of noise put paid to that as more and more students clustered outside [xx] Lansdown, making more noise in the middle of the night than they would in the middle of the day."

The resident says he was "incensed", got dressed and went to the house. By this time, the students were inside. He spoke to a female student and expressed his anger at what was happening.

"It must have hit home because she immediately began apologising and said they would stop. As I write [his email is timed at 02:12am] there’s no noise from [xx], so it looks like they'll keep their word.

"It hasn’t stopped others though, because the comings and goings of students at other houses look set for the night, complete with the usual shouting, cackling and banging doors."
