* Lansdown, 22 Sep: 'Full of students'

(22018) Two residents complained about a large student party in Lansdown Road, Chandos, on the night of 21-22 September 2022.

Resident1 wrote to UoB: "The rear garden was full of students, the house was full of students, and the front garden, pavement and road were crowded with students. All were shouting and talking loudly. The front door was wide open and loud music was being played in the house."

The resident says he and other neighbours went to the house to complain. "The pressure from residents did get the students to shut down the party, but I have no doubt it would have gone on all night if we hadn’t intervened. Even after the party stopped, noisy groups of students stayed in the street, [and] are still there as I write this at 12.50am."

Resident2 wrote: "Last night at 10:45 pm, 21 September, I was in my bedroom with my windows closed, and I could hear lots of very noisy students outside in the garden of [x] Lansdown Rd. I knew that I would be unable to sleep with all the noise, so I went around to the house and rang the doorbell. The place was heaving with people."

The resident says she asked a tenant to get everyone inside and keep the back door closed, but although she was promised this would happen, it didn't.

"... the noise continued, and I was unable to sleep, even with earplugs. Finally, around midnight I went to a spare bed in the front of my house to get some sleep."
