* Alexandra Park, 9 Oct: Audible 80m away

(22030) Operation Beech was called to a student party in Alexandra Park, Cotham, on the night of 8/9 October, 2022.

I observed this event at first hand, and subsequently circulated the following report to residents I am in contact with, as well as UoB:

"A student party took place at [xx] Alexandra Park last night. I happened to be in the vicinity at about midnight and saw that Operation Beech (a police patrol paid for by University of Bristol) was in attendance. I spoke to the officers briefly after they came out of the house. (I was not the person who called Beech, nor did I speak to anyone at the property.)

"Beech and I then left the street, separately. As I did so, I saw about a dozen people arriving at the house and going in to join the party. From Kensington Road, where the backs of houses in Alexandra Park and Fernbank Road are visible, I could hear music and the voices of people in an outdoor space, probably a garden. I was standing about 80 metres from No. [xx], measured on the Pinpoint map. The party was therefore potentially causing disturbance to any residents sleeping in rear bedrooms overlooking the Alexandra Park/Fernbank gardens. "I continued my walk and spent some considerable time at Trelawney Road, where two other disturbances were in progress.

"On my way home, I revisited Alexandra Park. At 1:53am I could hear significant beat music from No. [xx], especially when the side door was opened. From the movement of people in the side passage between the houses, it appeared the main gathering was in the garden. This was not visible from the street but the sound of a large number of people was fairly obvious. I again checked the sound from Kensington Road, where I had stood previously, and it was clearly louder than before. I left at about 2am. (Again, I did not speak to anyone at the property.)

"While I was in Alexandra Park on the second occasion, I saw two males leave No. [xx], cross the street and urinate against the garden wall and gatepost at No. [xx] opposite. They then returned to No. [xx]. (In my experience, this is a common sight at large parties—possibly because the toilet facilities at the party house are not equal to the number of people present.)"
